Suffolk Cooperative Library System and St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue are partnering on a free event on Saturday, April 13, for young readers to hear from and meet some of their favorite writers.

This is the 12th year for Authors Unlimited, which is geared to youngsters ages 12 to 16.

This year, the three authors who will be speaking are Liz Braswell, George O’Connor and Victor Pineiro.

The day starts off with a panel discussion with all three authors, followed by each speaking individually for about 45 minutes each, followed by a book signing.

“We see it as a way for teens and tweens to connect with authors,” said Derek Ivie, Suffolk County Library System’s youth coordinator.

The authors will discuss their latest books and also talk about the writing process, which will inspire young writers in the audience, Ivie said.

The authors will be well known to younger readers.

Braswell is author of “Stuffed” and several books for Disney Books’s “Twisted Tale” series, including “Once Upon a Dream” and “As Old as Time.”

Pineiro is the award-winning author of the “Time Villains” novels for Sourcebooks. O’Connor is a New York Times best-selling author and illustrator of the “Olympians” series of YA graphic novels and the “Asgardians” series of books on Norse gods, published by First Second Publishers, an imprint of Macmillan.
