Pumpkin season is officially here in Brightwaters! Beginning last Monday, Sept. 21, locals can stop by Brightwaters Farms for their Fall Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends).
The pumpkin patch is the most popular attraction for folks searching for the perfect pumpkin. Decorating the field are Halloween monster cutouts for photos. Neighboring the field is the farm animal area, where families can feed and pet their goats and pigs. Wandering around the farm are roosters and hens accompanying guests on their day of activities.
The Country Store on the farm sells handmade treats and fall goodies. Cider donuts, freshly baked pies and candy, corn on the cob, local honey and other fall staples are for sale. Weekends and holidays will bring a full concession menu, featuring pumpkin beer and wine, fries, turkey legs, and more.
Throughout the season, live shows and entertainment will be offered, from clowns and magic shows to strongman challenges and face painting. A play area is also offered for little harvesters looking for fun, with bouncy houses that will be set up during the season.
Pony rides and hayrides are another attraction that has guests lining up, with the hayride taking guests on a ride across the farm.
For weekdays, admission is free for all guests. For weekends and holidays, admission is $29.95 and includes the farm activities listed above, with additional charges for pumpkin picking and pony rides.
