Colonials advance to semifinals with big win

The No. 1-ranked William Floyd Colonials displayed their dominance as they defeated No. 8 Sachem East by a score of 55-26 in the quarterfinals of the Suffolk County Division I playoffs.

The victory advances William Floyd to the county semifinals, where they will host rival No. 4 Longwood on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex.

The Colonials met Longwood earlier this season on Oct. 6 and defeated the Lions by a score of 21-0. With a win on Saturday, the Colonials can punch their ticket back to the Suffolk County Championship game at Stony Brook University!

Congratulations to head coach Paul Longo, his coaching staff, and the student-athletes on their big win, and good luck in the county semifinals! The quest for a 14th Suffolk County title and sixth Long Island championship is off to a strong start!
