Posted

On Saturday, June 29, William Floyd High School held its 65th commencement ceremony to celebrate the more than 700 students who completed the requirements for graduation and became William Floyd›s newest alumni.

Family and friends gathered to watch their loved ones walk across the stage and receive their high school diplomas. The event was also simultaneously livestreamed for those who could not be in attendance.

The ceremony kicked off with the Presentation of Colors by the William Floyd High School NJROTC under the leadership senior chief Andrew DiDonato, followed by a beautiful rendition of Francis Scott Key’s “The Star-Spangled Banner” as sung by the graduating seniors of the William Floyd High School Chorus (under the direction of Donia Rivera).

Commencement speakers included valedictorian Joshua Schultzer and salutatorian Maggie Hua, along with board of education president April Coppola who recognized the students who have enlisted in the Armed Forces. Superintendent of schools Kevin M. Coster, William Floyd High School principal Philip Scotto and Floyd Academy principal John DeBenedetto also delivered remarks.
