Sayville vs. Mount Sinai

Sayville improved to 4-0 after a 42-0 shutout over Mount Sinai. The Golden Flashes were the visitors at the Mount Sinai Mustangs and commanded the entire game.

Early in the game, Connor Batterberry rushed 20 yards and Matthew Damone netted an extra point. Batterberry zipped another four yards for another six points while Damone nailed another extra tally.

Colin Darling clutched a 25-yard touchdown reception from Frankie Hanley, Hanley whirled four yards on the ground for a rushing TD, Batterberry plunged to the end zone on a one-yard touchdown—his third of the evening—and Shane Gouldsbury churned eight yards to crosse the plane for Sayville’s sixth touchdown of the contest.

Sayville led 21-0 at halftime, and preserved the shutout for a 42-0 victory. Batterberry rushed the ball 20 times summating 180 yards, Hanley was 10 out of 15 for 180 passing yards with 51 rushing yards, Cole Canterella made six rushing attempts tallying 49 yards, James Coan ran for 21 yards on three carries, Darling hauled in four passes for 92 yards, Jake Arato reeled in two receptions for 47, Damone was six-for-six on PATs, and Saad Abid made an interception for the Golden Flashes.

Sayville will be on the road again vs. Shoreham-Wading River tomorrow night (Oct. 9) for a 6 p.m. contest.
