Fire Island National Seashore recently announced the reopening of the Lighthouse Tower. Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 30, visitors were able to take a tour of the tower.

“We are excited the work to stabilize the outer façade of the lighthouse tower is complete. Visitors are now able to climb the steps and take in the vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and Great South Bay,” said Scott McCormick, acting superintendent of Fire Island National Seashore.

The tower tour requires an admission fee and proper footwear. The Lens Building, Keepers Quarters, and museum store are open and accessible to the public.
