Town recognized as Government Experience Award Project Winner

The Town of Brookhaven is proud to announce that it has been named a Project Winner in the 2026 Government Experience (GovX) Awards, presented by the Center for Digital Government. The town received this national recognition for its implementation of DocAccess, an innovative digital accessibility solution designed to make government documents more accessible and user-friendly for all residents.

The Government Experience Awards recognize state and local governments across the country for their achievements in improving digital services, enhancing accessibility, and creating more effective and engaging experiences for the public.

Through its partnership with DocAccess, the Town of Brookhaven has taken significant steps toward improving accessibility across its website. Launched in March 2026, the initiative enhanced access to over 13,000 government documents, providing residents with a more inclusive and convenient way to view important town information. The technology helps remove barriers to accessing digital documents, supporting the town’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and ensure that essential government resources are available to all members of the community.
