William Floyd School District’s first day of school for K through 9 is Wednesday, Sept. 6 and the first day for grades 10 through 12 is Thursday, Sept. 7.
The 2023-24 school district calendar is now available on the school’s website, and residents will be receiving a printed version in their mailboxes during the second week of August.
“The William Floyd School District has just completed another successful summer for our students including hosting robust elementary and middle school enrichment programs, music and athletic camps, Regents review prep sessions and high school summer school, which will culminate with summer school graduation on Friday, Aug. 25,” said superintendent of schools Kevin Coster. “At this event, we celebrate the last group of senior members of the Class of 2023, who successfully completed their high school education and are about to embark on the next chapter of their lives. Our buildings are ready to go for September and we look forward to another successful school year for our students and staff.”
Schedules for K-12 will be available on the parent portal on Monday, Aug. 28.
According to the district, parents and guardians are encouraged to use these remaining days to verify that their username and password are working in order to view their child’s schedule when released. Students should also verify that their student portal usernames and passwords are working if they would like to see their schedules when released.
The district is also once again able to offer free school meals (one breakfast and one lunch) due to its participation in the United States Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision free school meal program. Residents are encouraged to fill out the household income form to ensure the district’s continued eligibility for this program.
School-supply lists are also available via the school’s website. Students interested in participating in the William Floyd interscholastic athletics program are required to register through Family ID.
