William Floyd High School students artists recently had the opportunity to showcase their work at the Suffolk County Art Leaders Association (SCALA) All-County & Scholarship Show on display at the Old Babylon Town Hall during the months of February and March. One student, junior Tylee Trent, took home “Best in Show” in the Mixed Media category for his “Aquarius Painting,” for which he incorporated oil paint on wood along with paper scales. This life-size painting is part of a series of pieces that he is working on.

Senior Madison Hangley also had several pieces on display for the Scholarship Show, including her winning design for the 2017 William Floyd High School yearbook cover. Jessica Munoz-Quintanilla and Azly Vera Bravo also exhibited their family shields created in Erika Licausi’s Studio in Drawing class.

Elementary and middle school students had the opportunity to have their works showcased at the SCALA Children’s Show. Congratulations to William Paca Middle School students Gianna Byrnes, Kiara Ward, D’Aaron DeGraffe Williams, Skyla Chiusano, Nadine Carmichael and Allison Sapio (teacher Jillian Berner); and Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School students Melina Weiss, Izabella Diaz, Alice Yilmaz, Keily Lee, Llayron Cortave and Louis Heruska (teacher Eileen Randazzo).
